Power Apps
Introduction
PowerApps is a suite of services, connectors and a data platform that provides a rapid application development environment to allow you to build custom applications (Apps) for your business needs.
PowerApps provides the flexibility to create business applications within a few clicks. We don’t need to have the highly skilled staff or developers to create a simple application. The PowerApps platform provides a fast and consistent user experience to the end users, developers and administrators.
Benefits:
You can quickly create an App using Out of the box templates.
Built-in connectors allow you to connect data from many systems.
Document sharing is easy and you can share PowerApps across your entire organisation as simply as sharing a document.
Reduces development time and costs
Power Apps is a high-productivity development platform for business apps, and has four major components:
1.Canvas apps
Canvas App is no code/low code business app with which you can design the app by dragging and dropping elements onto a canvas. Canvas app is used to build mobile apps with various functionalities.
These apps are great for:
Pulling multiple data sources together into one app,
Data from SharePoint lists, Dynamics 365, Office 365, SQL databases, and many more can be combined into one user interface,
Creating a completely custom UI,
Providing a user friendly – mobile-first application for your users,
More flexibility with development of functions and controls.
2.Model-driven apps
Model-driven apps start with your data model – building up from the shape of your core business data and processes in the Dataverse to model forms, views, and other components. Model-driven apps automatically generate great UI that is responsive across devices.
Model-driven app design doesn’t require code and the apps you make can be simple or very complex. With model-driven apps, much of the layout is determined for you and largely designated by the components you add to the app.
3.Portals
Portals help you create external-facing websites that allow users outside your organization to sign in with a wide variety of identities, create and view data in Dataverse, or even browse content anonymously.
